Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday visited Patna to attend the birth anniversary function of freedom fighter and Dalit icon Jaglal Choudhary.
During the event, the Raebareli MP made a faux pas while delivering his speech. The video of his speech is now being circulated on social media.
In the video, he can be seen misnaming Jaglal Chaudhary, Bihar’s first Dalit minister. He then corrected himself and after the crowd pointed it out his mistake.

He said, "Today we remember Jagat Chaudhary ji." Later, after the crowd shouted the Dalit leader's name, Gandhi correct himself and said, "Sorry, Jaglal Choudhary".
During the address, Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi also said, "In India's power structure today, whether it is education, health, corporate, business, judiciary, how much is your participation?... Dalits have been given representation but it means nothing if there is no participation in the power structure. Making you sit on the stage has no meaning if the decisions are made from behind the stage. Today, it has become a fashion to give tickets to people from different castes, PM Modi also says this. But then, you (PM Modi) snatched the powers of the MLAs. Even the Lok Sabha MPs have no power to make any decisions. You made ministers but the OSD is from RSS. The question is about control and participation..."
This is his second tour of Bihar in less than a month.
