During his fiery speech in Lok Sabha on Operation Sindoor, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Monday hit the table in frustration while questioning the government over US President Donald Trump inviting Pakistan army chief Asim Munir for lunch.

The action by the leader of opposition prompted a gentle warning by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, who asked Rahul Gandhi not to "break" Parliament's property.

"Respected member, this is House's property, please don't break it," Birla said after watching Rahul getting carried away during the speech.

"Sorry sir, it was a mistake?" the Congress MP responded quickly.

Rahul Gandhi's heated action took place when he was questioning PM Modi for not challenging Trump over his decision to invite Asim Munir for lunch. The Congress MP also called Munir the real mastermind of the April 22 Pahalgam attack.

"The man behind Pahalgam is a Pakistani general called Asim Munir (chief of Army staff). That man is having lunch with the US President. He is sitting there. Our PM cannot go there. Mr Trump is breaking all protocol. And he is inviting the man who has done terrorism with India to have lunch with him. PM Modi hasn't said anything. He didn't say 'how dare Mr Trump invite Munir to his office," Rahul said, as he banged the table near him.
