The Union Government is set to release the 22nd instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Nidhi scheme, transferring more than ₹18,640 crore to farmers across the country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the funds on Friday, March 13, 2026, during an event in Guwahati, which is located in the poll-bound State of Assam. The amount will be credited to the bank accounts of about 9.32 crore farmers.

Announcing the date for the next payment under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said the step highlights the government’s continued focus on farmers’ welfare.

“With the release of the 22nd instalment, the total amount transferred will exceed the historic milestone of ₹4.27 lakh crore,” Mr. Chouhan said.

He added that, since the launch of the programme in 2019, more than ₹4.09 lakh crore has already been sent directly to eligible farmer families through direct benefit transfer.

The scheme provides financial assistance of ₹6,000 each year to eligible farmer households, which is distributed in three equal instalments.

“In the 22nd instalment, over 2.15 crore women farmers will receive financial assistance,” Chouhan said.

He also said the financial support enables farmers to purchase key agricultural inputs.

“This will strengthen the economic condition of rural families and provide new momentum to women’s empowerment in villages,” he added.

The minister urged farmers to ensure that their details are updated on the PM-KISAN portal so they can receive the benefit without delays.

The Minister appealed to farmers across the country, especially those in Assam and other States, to verify their status on the PM-KISAN portal and complete their e-KYC at the earliest.
