In his Diwali greetings to the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the success of Operation Sindoor and the anti-Naxal fight. The Prime Minister said this is the second Diwali after the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya, adding, “Shri Ram teaches us to uphold righteousness and also gives the courage to fight injustice”.
“We have seen a living example of this a few months ago during Operation Sindoor. During Operation Sindoor, Bharat not only upheld righteousness but also avenged injustice,” the Prime Minister wrote.
PM Modi said this Diwali is particularly special, as it marks the first time lamps will shine in numerous districts across the country, including remote ones, where Naxalism and Maoist terrorism have been eradicated.
“In recent times, we have seen many individuals abandoning the path of violence and joining the mainstream of development, expressing faith in the Constitution of our country. This is a major achievement for the nation,” he wrote.
The Prime Minister also hailed the next-generation GST reforms implemented on September 22 (first day of Navratri), saying citizens saved thousands of crores of rupees as a result. He also hailed the growth witnessed by India in the past few years even amid turbulent times, saying the country emerged as a symbol of both stability and sensitivity. "We are also on track to become the third-largest economy in the world in the near future," the Prime Minister said.
PM Modi also called on people to embrace Swadeshi (local) products, uphold cleanliness, adopt yoga, and promote “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat,” adding that every small effort will rapidly move "us towards a Viksit Bharat".
The Prime Minister celebrated Diwali with naval personnel onboard aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, which he described as a towering symbol of 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat'. "People love celebrating Diwali with their families. And so do I, which is why every year I meet our Army and security personnel who keep our nation safe," Modi said.
