Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath has revealed that his next guest on the podcast "WTF is with Nikhil Kamath" is Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The announcement came with the release of a two-minute trailer in which PM Modi can be seen discussing his leadership journey, political philosophy, and personal experiences. Earlier, the Zerodha co-founder had released a trailer with a teaser of the upcoming episode of his podcast, where he was seen talking to a mysterious guest in Hindi.
In the trailer, Kamath was seen saying "I am sitting here in front of you and talking, I feel nervous.” In response, PM Modi smiled and said, "This is my first podcast, I don't know how it'll go with your audience.”
I hope you all enjoy this as much as we enjoyed creating it for you! https://t.co/xth1Vixohn Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) January 9, 2025
While PM Modi already hosts “Mann Ki Baat” and has been part of various television interviews, this will be his first appearance in the podcast format.
PM Modi also reposted Kamath's post with the caption, "I hope you all enjoy this as much as we enjoyed creating it for you!"
In the extended trailer, Kamath revealed his ambition to explore the intersections between politics and entrepreneurship during the podcast. He also asked the PM to advise young people who want to enter politics. “Good people should become politicians… They should come with a mission, not just ambition,” said PM Modi.
PM Modi also reflected on his personal journey, recalling a speech he had given as Chief Minister where he admitted to having made an insensitive remark.
"Mistakes happen. I am human, not a God," he said.
The two also discussed the Prime Minister's two consecutive terms in office. "Growing up in a South Indian middle-class home, we were always told that politics is a dirty game. This belief is so ingrained in our psyche that it is almost impossible to change it. What is your one advice for people who think the same?" Kamath asked.
"If you believed in what you said, we would not be having this conversation," PM Modi responded.
They also speak of global conflicts when Kamath says one should be worried about what is happening around the world. “I am not neutral. I am in favor of peace,” said PM Modi.
Kamath also asked PM Modi on how his leadership has evolved over his two terms as Prime Minister. Modi candidly said, “During my first term, Indian people were trying to understand me, and I was trying to understand Delhi.”
The trailer of the sixth episode has evoked reactions across social media. However, the exact release date has not been announced yet.
