After India’s retaliatory strikes against terror camps in Pakistan under “Operation Sindoor”, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday briefed his cabinet colleagues and called it a “moment of pride for all of us".

According to News18, the PM described the operation as a “perfect strike by the armed forces". He also informed the ministers about how the strikes were conducted deep inside Pakistan.

“Hum sab ke liye garv ka pal hai (this is a moment of pride for all of us)," PM Modi told his ministers at the meeting, according to News18.

India on Wedensday avenged the killings of 26 civilians in the Pahalgam terror attack with precision strikes deep inside Pakistan’s Punjab (4 targets) and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (5 targets), including headquarters of terror outfits JeM and LeT.

At least 17 terrorists were reportedly killed in Indian strikes and over 60 were injured, according to News18.

The PM had earlier given full operational freedom to the armed forces to decide on the targets, manner and timing of the action against terror.

PM Modi is expected to meet President Droupadi Murmu and brief her about "Operation Sindoor".

According to reports, PM Modi personally monitored real-time developments in New Delhi. He was briefed continuously by the Chief of Defence Staff, senior intelligence officers, and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.

Multiple rounds of communication were held between the Prime Minister and the chiefs of the Army, Navy and Air Force, beginning late Tuesday evening and extending through the early hours of Wednesday, according to NDTV.

In a public rally in Bihar days after the attack, the Prime Minister had vowed to avenge the killing of the tourists in cold blood and said that India would pursue the terrorists and their backers “to the ends of the earth" and punish them.

Earlier on Wednesday, the  Centre said that only the terrorist camps that have been used to plan and execute previous terror attacks in India and which were planning to further carry out similar attacks were targeted.

“No military establishment was targeted, and there are no reports of civilian casualties. It must be said that the Indian armed forces are fully prepared to respond to a Pakistani misadventure, if any, that will escalate the situation," said Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, who was present at the joint press conference with Col Sofiya Qureshi, both of who represented the armed forces and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, representing the government.

According to PTI, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday directed chiefs of all paramilitary forces to call back their personnel who are on leave.

He also asked the authorities concerned to keep bunkers ready for the shelter of the civilian population in case of emergency
