Congress MP Digvijaya Singh on the opposition's walkout from the House, says, "We listened to the Prime Minister's speech for over 2 hours in the Lok Sabha. The opposition wanted him to say something about Manipur and make some decisions about NEET. But he did not speak...He is not ready to listen to the opposition. In the Rajya Sabha, our senior leader and the party's national president wanted only 2 minutes of time to speak. They wanted to say something on the Prime Minister's speech but their character has been undemocratic from the beginning."

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on PM Modi's speech in Rajya Sabha, says, "The fact that for more than a year since the troubles erupted there (Manipur) in May 2023, his silence and his refusal to even go there speaks volumes. This is something which we have been in despair about for quite some time, that the government not only errs sometimes in its inattention to a major problem but remains in complete denial about it. If he has addressed it today, I'm glad he's done so. But the situation in Manipur is far from normal. We heard a very impassioned speech by one of our MPs from Manipur talking about the pain and anguish of the people there, which I think is the level of feeling that people in Manipur have that the BJP government and the Prime Minister cannot afford to be oblivious of."

Congress General Secretary in-charge Communications Jairam Ramesh says, "The manner in which the PM twisted and misconstrued Rahul Gandhi's speech made it seem that he was delivering an election speech, and not speaking in the Parliament. When he came to Rajya Sabha, he levelled allegations against Congress and when Mallikarjun Kharge stood up, he was not given an opportunity for rebuttal. He kept lying. PM should understand one thing - though the Congress didn't get a majority, he didn't get one either. The 2024 elections are a personal, political and moral loss for him. He didn't get the mandate. I used to say that he is 1/3rd PM, he twisted that statement too and said that I was mentioning 1/3rd government. He would not have been the PM without Naidu and Nitish. He stopped at 240, he didn't get a mandate. It is true that he has become the PM for the third time but he didn't get the majority."

On PM Modi's statement on Manipur, Congress General Secretary in-charge Communications and MP Jairam Ramesh says, "What PM said in Rajya Sabha today on Manipur is different from reality...In February 2022, BJP and its allies garnered more than 2/3rd share of votes (in Manipur)...Within 15 months, Manipur started burning. It is a conspiracy hatched inside...PM has not been to Manipur to date. He had not said a word before today. Today, he was compelled to speak up. There was not much mention of Manipur in the President's Address. On 1st July, Inner Manipur MP Bimol Akoijam also expressed that Manipur has not been mentioned...What is this hypocrisy? When Opposition walked out as LoP was not given the opportunity to give a rebuttal to the lies that were being repeatedly said by the PM. When Opposition walked out, the PM said a few words about Manipur. The words he used were different from reality...Even today, the people of Manipur are asking why is the PM not visiting Manipur...This is hypocrisy."

Congress General Secretary in-charge Communications and MP Jairam Ramesh on PM Modi's statement on Manipur, says, "Why did the PM not break his silence? Why did the PM not meet the CM? Why did he not speak with the MPs-MLAs? He should have broken his silence earlier. He visits different countries...but he can't go to Manipur. Why not? It would have sent a message that the Prime Minister is concerned about the situation."

Shiv Sena (UBT) Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi says, "The walkout happened because the dignity of the Leader of the Opposition was violated by the govt today. The Prime Minister said everything he wanted because there was no Opposition there. The people of Manipur know how big a disappointment it is when the Prime Minister of your country does not even talk about you."

DMK MP Tiruchi N Siva on the Opposition's walkout from Rajya Sabha, says, "Today when the prime minister was speaking, the leader of the opposition asked just 1 minute for seeking a clarification. But he was not allowed. Neither the PM allowed nor the chair allowed him. So where is democracy? No debate, no discussion. So we were compelled to walk out."

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju says "When the Prime Minister of the country and the leader of the House present their views. In the House, at that time everyone has to listen whether it is the ruling party or the Opposition. In a democracy, everyone has the right to speak and also the right to listen. When the Prime Minister started speaking in the Lok Sabha, the Congress and some of their allies created a huge ruckus and disrupted the entire speech of the Prime Minister. It is very sad because when the Prime Minister of the country speaks, he is given full time to speak, this has been the tradition. If they want to interrupt or give clarification in between, then it is fine. Some interruptions are definitely done during the speech but you will not let him speak for the entire 2-hour by making noise and raising slogans. This has never happened. The Congress party will have to think that the Prime Minister of the country does not belong to any party. He leads the entire country..."

"The opposition is known for doing issueless politics. The opposition is afraid of people's questions and government's achievements. The Parliament runs according to some rules and regulations. Making objections over everything is not right for the democracy," says BJP MP Deepak Prakash on opposition's walk out from the Rajya Sabha during PM Modi's address.

On the Opposition's walkout from Rajya Sabha, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi says, "The Prime Minister was singing the praises of the Constitution, the same Prime Minister who had said that he would win 370 seats himself, had said on the floor of the Rajya Sabha that the NDA would win more than 400 seats and as soon as he gave the slogan of 400 seats, all his candidates started saying that the Constitution will be changed. The LoP requested three to four times that he wanted to intervene because lies were being served there but he did not get a chance. That is why we said that if they do not want to listen to us they do not accept the system of parliamentary democracy and are still running with the same arrogance, then we have also walked out of the House... Those who are feeling insulted are the people to whom the people have stopped at 240. They are trying to take their anger and frustration to our door. But the truth is that they did not give anyone a chance to speak."

PM Narendra Modi says, "In her Address, the President called paper leak, a major issue. I had expected all parties to speak by rising above party politics. But, unfortunately, they sacrificed even such a sensitive and important issue, an issue related to the future of the youth to politics. What can be a bigger misfortune than this? I assure the youth of the country that this government is not going to spare those who cheated you. One action after the other is being taken to ensure that those who toyed with the future of the youth of my country get the strictest punishment. In Parliament, we have formed strict laws against these irregularities. We are strengthening the entire system so that the youth of my country do not have to be in a situation of apprehension in future and that they showcase their capability in a confident manner and get what is rightfully theirs."

"During the Emergency, several small political parties were floated, which are supporting the Congress today. Yesterday, I said in the Lok Sabha that this is parasitic Congress. Where they contest alone, their strike rate is shameful and where they got support from someone, they have got saved. The country has not accepted them yet," says PM Modi in his reply to the Motion of Thanks on President's Address in Rajya Sabha.

A few days ago, I saw a video from Bengal on social media. A woman was being beaten on the road in full public view, no one came forward to help her, rather they were making video.
