Former Pakistan all-rounder and captain Shahid Afridi has once again stirred controversy with his remarks about India, just days after New Delhi and Islamabad announced a complete ceasefire following escalating cross-border tensions.
Speaking at the “Youm-e-Tashakur” (Day of Gratitude) rally in Karachi, Afridi praised Pakistan's military, calling them "unbreakable," and accused the Indian armed forces of targeting civilian areas, mosques, and even martyring children.

Afridi, who was leading the rally in support of Pakistan’s military response to India’s precision strikes on military establishments, described India’s actions as provocative. He also claimed that India’s initial strikes had compelled Pakistan to act in self-defense, further asserting that India was now facing the consequences of its aggression.
The former Pakistani cricket team captain's comments come despite the Indian armed forces conducting significant strikes on multiple air bases across Pakistan, backed by visual evidence of their actions.
“The world saw how strong our army is when we took action. When you challenge us, you’ll understand how tough you really are. You killed our innocent children and civilians,” Afridi declared in his speech, reported The Express Tribune.

The former cricketer also had strong words for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating, “Pakistan’s defense is unbreakable. Now, Modi realises how costly it is to confront Pakistan.”

He further criticised India, claiming the Indian armed forces targeted innocent civilians, and reiterated that while Pakistan desires peace, it would not remain silent in the face of such aggression.
Afridi had previously denied any Pakistani involvement in the Pahalgam attack, calling on India to provide proof of Pakistan’s role in the incident, and referring to the Indian military as "useless" for "their failure to protect their citizens".
