High drama unfolded on Monday as Delhi Police stopped leaders of the INDIA bloc marching from Parliament to the Election Commission shortly after they set out.
The march, led by Congress MP and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi, was in protest against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls being undertaken in Bihar and planned in other states.
Amid the chaos, two Trinamool Congress MPs, Mahua Moitra and Mitali Baugh, fainted. Fellow politicians were seen attempting to revive them with water and first aid. Baugh was shifted to hospital, according to India Today.

A video shared by ANI on X showed Gandhi talking to reporters as he was detained.
“The reality is that they cannot talk. The truth is in front of the country. This fight is not political. This fight is to save the Constitution. This fight is for One Man, One Vote. We want a clean, pure voters’ list," Gandhi said.
Several MPs clashed with the police, while leaders including SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, Trinamool MPs Mahua Moitra and Sushmita Dev, and Congress members Sanjana Jatav and Jothimani climbed the barricades and raised slogans.

Earlier in the day, the Delhi Police said that no permission was for the proposed march by the INDIA Bloc from Parliament to the Election Commission.
The leaders were wearing white caps with a red cross on the words 'SIR' and "vote chori".
Meanwhile, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said, "Dare hue hai. Sarkaar kaayar hai." (They are scared, the government is coward)".
The march came days after Gandhi accused the poll body of "vote chori". “Vote chori (theft) is not just an electoral scam; it is a major betrayal committed against the Constitution and democracy. Let the nation's culprits hear this. Times will change, punishment will surely be meted out,” read Gandhi's post on X in Hindi, a day after he made a presentation detailing the allegations.
All the opposition MPs detained were released after about two hours, police officials told PTI.
