Months after Operation Sindoor standoff, the Indian armed forces are preparing for a mega military exercise starting today. Aptly named Trishul, troops from all three forces will participate in wargames involving battle tanks, fighter jets and deployment of warships.
As per geostrategy Damien Symon, a NOTAM is in place on the Indian side from today till November 10. Curiously, Pakistan also issued a 48-hour NOTAM restricting air operations in key sectors. There have been unconfirmed reports that Pakistan Airt Force scrambled fighter jets to the frontlines.

This is the first time since the May tensions that India is carrying out a military exercise of this scale. Officials say the Indian Army has mobilised as many as 25,000 troops for the exercise. The Indian Air Force has deployed Sukhois, Rafales and Airborne Early Warning and Control among key aerial assets. The Indian Navy will be patrolling the Western front for real combat situations as part of the drill.
While there has been no official statement from Pakistani forces regarding the NOTAM, various reports are doing the rounds regarding how Rawalpindi will be closely monitoring the border areas along India due to Exercise Trishul.
In fact, there have been reports that the Pakistan Navy Chief visited the Sir Creek area over the last weekend. The range of India’s NOTAM which is nearer to Rahim Yar Khan airbase along the international border may set the alarm bells ringing in Islamabad. New Delhi, on its part, has maintained that this is a general preparedness military drill which has been part of the armed forces’ annual schedule
