A shocking case from Tamil Nadu’s Krishnagiri district has come to light, where a man has accused his wife and her lesbian partner of killing their five-month-old son, reported India Today. Police have arrested both women following the complaint.
The incident occurred on November 5 in Chinnati village. The infant reportedly fell unconscious while being fed and was declared dead upon arrival at the Kelamangalam Government Hospital. The child was later buried.
According to police, the complainant, 38-year-old Suresh, a daily wage labourer, alleged that his wife, 26-year-old Barathi, and her partner, Sumithra, were responsible for the baby’s death. The couple also has two daughters, aged four and five.
Suresh told police that he became suspicious after checking Barathi’s phone and discovering photos and voice messages that suggested her involvement in the crime along with Sumithra. He later submitted the evidence to the police, including a recorded phone call in which Barathi allegedly confessed to killing the infant.
Police sources told reporters that Barathi and Sumithra had been in a relationship for around three years. Tensions reportedly grew after Barathi gave birth to her son, as the two women were unable to spend as much time together.
Following Suresh’s complaint, the Kelamangalam Police arrested both Barathi and Sumithra. Further investigation into the case is underway.
