The Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 commenced on Monday at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, marking the start of one of the largest religious gatherings in the world. The sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mystical Saraswati rivers witnessed a large influx of devotees performing the holy ritual of ‘Shahi Snan’ on the auspicious occasion of Paush Purnima. The Uttar Pradesh government has projected an unprecedented turnout of over 40 crore people, making this the largest gathering of human beings in recorded history. To accommodate the massive influx, authorities have implemented elaborate plans for crowd management, sanitation, and security. Security personnel, including those patrolling on boats, have been deployed to ensure the safety of devotees during rituals.

Additionally, the Traffic Police have introduced detailed arrangements to manage vehicular movement and ensure smooth transit for pilgrims attending the Maha Kumbh Mela.
