Yoga guru Baba Ramdev and Bageshwar Dham chief Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri were present as well. Shastri praised the initiative, noting that people from different castes and religions were taking their vows under one roof, adding that it symbolised their call to move beyond caste divisions.

Shastri said the ceremony was notable because “on one side a driver was getting married, and on the other, the son of the man who drives the state was also tying the knot on the same platform.”
Calling it an example for the country, Ramdev said leaders and industrialists should take inspiration and avoid extravagant destination weddings. “We need to move from destination weddings to divine weddings,” he said.
At a time when lavish celebrations dominate social trends, the Chief Minister’s choice to have his son married at a mass ceremony in Sanwara Khedi, alongside 20 other couples, was intended as a social message promoting simplicity and inclusivity.
