Supreme Court advocate S Selvakumari was attacked by a group of monkeys while entering through Gate No. G, near the museum on August 22, resulting in injuries, according to a report.
Following the attack, she faced additional difficulties. When she sought treatment at the Supreme Court dispensary, she discovered it was under renovation. "I tried to enter the Supreme Court and one of the monkeys bit my thigh. There was no one to save me also outside the gate area. No one was stationed, then when I rushed to the Supreme Court dispensary, there was renovation work going on," the lawyer was quoted as saying to the Bar and Bench.
The report further mentioned that the lawyer's friends then took her to the polyclinic near the Registrar's Court, where she the staff could only clean the wound and advised her to seek further treatment at Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital.
Selvakumari expressed frustration over the lack of basic medical medicines and preventive measures against such incidents on the Supreme Court campus.
