Delhi Hospital Fire Live Updates: Police to check call records of accused, question owner's wife
The Delhi Police will check call records and messages of the two accused arrested in connection with a fire at a neonatal facility here and question the hospital owner's wife, officials said on Tuesday.
They said investigators have already seized the mobile phones of the accused -- Dr Naveen Kichi, the owner of Baby Care New Born Hospital in east Delhi's Vivek Vihar, and Dr Akash, who was on duty at the time of the incident.
A senior police officer privy to the investigation said Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) officials under whose jurisdiction the hospital came will also be questioned.

Two persons died and over 500 others were injured as heavy rain lashed Meghalaya in the aftermath of Cyclone Remal.
One death was reported from East Jaintia Hills and another in a car accident in East Khasi Hills district.
The relentless downpour in the past 24 hours has affected around 17 villages and damaged several houses, a State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) report said.
Landslides were reported on the Shillong-Mawlai Bypass and at Bivar Road in Oakland, while flashfloods took place in Langkyrding, Pynthorbah, Polo, Sawfurlong and Demseiniong areas, it said.

One died and 17 others injured in Assam as a storm and heavy rainfall wreaked havoc in different parts of the state due to the impact of Cyclone Remal.
According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority, one died and four others injured in Morigaon district. 12 students injured in Dhekiajuli area in Sonitpur district after a tree branch fell on a school bus. Injured were rescued and sent for medical care.

Citing the recent fire incident where newborn infants lost their lives, Delhi LG VK Saxena orders a comprehensive ACB probe into the registration of nursing homes in Delhi.
In his note to the Chief Secretary, Saxena said, “I have taken a very stern view in the matter. Though this is a transferred subject, in larger public interest, I am forced to step in, on account of the lack of seriousness on part of authorities entrusted with these responsibilities.”
The ACB probe will assess as to how many nursing homes are functioning without valid registrations and whether those which have valid registration are complying with prescribed norms as provided under Delhi Nursing Homes Registration Act, 1953 and the Rules made thereunder.

Cyclone Remal has significantly impacted many areas of Kolkata, according to Kolkata Police. The cyclone, which moved northwards over Coastal Bangladesh and Coastal West Bengal at a speed of 15 kmph, has caused severe weather conditions, including heavy rainfall and widespread waterlogging.
In a statement on X, Kolkata Police reported, "Many areas of the city have been hard-hit by Cyclone Remal. Our Disaster Management Group personnel and personnel of different police stations have been making efforts all night to remove numerous trees uprooted in the storm to keep traffic moving." The cyclone made landfall on Sunday over the coasts of West Bengal and Bangladesh between Sagar Island and Khepupara, near the southwest of Mongla.
