Karnataka Minister for Large and Medium Industries MB Patil on October 29 inaugurated the new state-of-the-art facility of RangSons Aerospace, a Mysuru-based firm that recently entered into a prestigious partnership with Boeing.

During the event, the Minister also distributed certificates to 60 ITI graduates trained by RangSons under its skill development initiative.

“It is remarkable that the RangSons family, who once traded in incense sticks, have built a strong presence in the aerospace sector. Their new facility, located adjacent to the existing one, is on par with global standards in design, scale, and ambition,” Patil said. “The industries department will extend all possible support to such forward-looking ventures.”

He lauded RangSons’ partnership with Boeing, describing it as a milestone for Karnataka’s aerospace ecosystem. “This facility, equipped with modern production systems and engineering laboratories, reflects industrial excellence. It also demonstrates that our companies can meet international standards,” he added.

The minister said nearly 70 percent of those who received skill training at RangSons have been absorbed into the company. “This not only empowers local youth but also strengthens Karnataka’s position as the country’s aerospace hub, which already contributes about 65 percent to India’s aerospace and defence output,” Patil said.

He added that Karnataka’s robust supply chain, R&D ecosystem, and engineering talent have placed it at the forefront of aerospace innovation. “Our priority now should be to equip young people with skills suited to global industries,” he said.

Kaynes Technologies plans to invest Rs 1,500 crore

Later in the day, the Minister visited Kaynes Technologies and Cyient DLM units in Mysuru’s Hebbal Industrial Area. He assured 20 acres of land for Kaynes Technologies’ expansion at Chamarajanagar, adding that the classification of the adjoining non-industrial land would be resolved soon.

Patil said Kaynes Technologies plans to invest Rs 1,500 crore in Chamarajanagar and build a hostel for 3,000 employees by next year. He also encouraged the company to set up a PCB manufacturing unit at Mulawada Industrial Area in Vijayapura to promote industrial decentralisation. Established in 1988 with 70 employees, Kaynes now employs over 700 people in Mysuru and serves over 250 clients across 26 countries.
