Notably, the EAM's meeting with Wright comes amid India’s continued push for clean energy expansion and enhanced cooperation with the US in areas such as renewable energy, green hydrogen, and critical minerals.
Earlier in the day, Jaishankar also met US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The two leaders discussed the expanding India-US bilateral partnership and exchanged views on pressing regional and global issues.
Jaishankar also held talks with US Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth. The meeting focused on enhancing the strategic and defence collaboration between the two nations, including cooperation in advanced technologies and joint military exercises.
The visit by Jaishankar comes ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s multi-nation tour, which includes participation in the BRICS Summit in Brazil and key engagements across the Global South.
