Online travel booking platform ixigo has announced that it will refund full convenience fees and assured fees to customers whose IndiGo flights booked on the platform are cancelled by the airline between December 3 and December 8, 2025.
The advisory, aimed at supporting passengers facing disruption, states that ixigo is committed to facilitating quick refunds and assisting with alternative bookings.
In a statement, ixigo said the refund policy applies automatically for all affected customers and urged users to reach out to its support team for any assistance. The company emphasized that it aims to ease the financial impact on travellers and ensure a smoother re-booking process for those affected by flight cancellations.
This comes after major airline IndiGo cancelled over 400 flights across four airports today, as it grapples with an ongoing operational crisis triggered by pilot shortages and new Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL) regulations.
Bengaluru airport recorded the highest cancellations with 124 flights (63 departures, 61 arrivals), followed by Mumbai (109, 51 departures, 58 arrivals), Delhi (106), and Hyderabad (66).
The disruptions come just a day after the airline won temporary relaxations in the second phase of court-mandated duty and rest period rules for cockpit crew.
Meanwhile, the civil aviation ministry has ordered IndiGo to complete all pending passenger refunds by 8 pm on Sunday, December 7, as the carrier’s operational chaos entered its fifth day.
