Ahead of Delhi Assembly election, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple projects in the national capital along with a college named after Veer Savarkar.
The development comes a day after the Congress-affiliated National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging him to name Delhi University’s upcoming college after former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, instead of Veer Savarkar.
In a series of X posts, the Prime Minister on Friday wrote, “Today is an important day for Delhi’s development. At a programme in Ashok Vihar, will be inaugurating and laying the foundation stones for a wide range of development works which will boost ‘Ease of Living’ for the people of Delhi.”
PM Modi will also visit the newly constructed flats for the dwellers of Jhuggi Jhopri (JJ) clusters under the In-Situ Slum Rehabilitation Project at Swabhiman Apartments, Ashok Vihar, Delhi, at 12.10 pm. At 12.45 pm, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects in Delhi, as per the official schedule.
The PM said a home is where dreams take root, and the BJP is committed to ensuring proper housing for every Indian. “During today’s programme, 1,675 newly constructed flats under the In-Situ Slum Rehabilitation Project will be inaugurated. This will ensure better and healthier living for several people. I look forward to handing over the keys of their homes to some of the beneficiaries as well,” he said.
