As preparations are underway to extend the Golden Line Metro track from Aerocity to Kalindi Kunj, the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has developed a detailed plan to link Noida International Airport with Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI).

Currently, the line runs from Aerocity to Tughlakabad, but the extension to Kalindi Kunj will provide direct access to the Botanical Garden Metro Station, as reported by News 18. This extension will greatly benefit thousands of passengers by offering enhanced convenience and reducing travel time.

The extension proposes two new metro stations: Sarita Vihar and Madanpur Khadar. A 5 km elevated metro track will be constructed between Tughlakabad and Kalindi Kunj, according to the proposal submitted by DMRC Chief Project Manager Shiv Om Dwivedi. The DMRC has requested a budget of Rs 950 crore from the Yamuna Development Authority for the construction of this track.

Connecting the Golden Line to Kalindi Kunj will also link it to the Magenta Line, further enhancing passenger convenience, as stated by the DMRC. The current construction project is expected to be completed within three years. This expedited timeline aims to streamline travel between Noida, Greater Noida, and Delhi IGI Airport.

The proposed 72.4 km Namo Bharat Metro route intended to connect to Noida International Airport will take a minimum of six years for completion.

A proposal to improve connectivity between Noida International Airport and Delhi’s IGI Airport has already been submitted to the government. Upon approval, the DMRC will fast-track the metro extension project. This development is expected to significantly benefit Noida and Greater Noida residents, as well as air travellers, by facilitating smoother travel between the two airports.

Currently, Botanical Garden Metro Station serves as a key junction, connecting the Magenta Line and the Blue Line. The Magenta Line stretches from Janakpuri West to Botanical Garden via Kalindi Kunj, featuring 25 stations, including 15 underground and 10 elevated.
