IndiGo on Monday said its Crisis Management Group (CMG) is 'closely monitoring' the ongoing disruption and that its top priorities are to restore 100 percent operational capacity, ensure timely flow of information, and fast-track refunds and rescheduling for affected passengers.
In a status update dated December 8, 2025, the airline said its board has been meeting regularly since the crisis began. A board-constituted CMG was set up at the first such meeting on December 4 and has been meeting every day since then to oversee all matters related to the current situation.
According to IndiGo, the CMG’s mandate is to deliver the board’s directions on four fronts: fully restoring operational integrity, improving the timeliness of passenger communication, expediting full refunds and flight rescheduling, and speeding up the return of baggage.
The airline said it is working “round the clock” to bring its network back to full capacity.
Meanwhile, civil aviation minister Ram Mohan Naidu told the Rajya Sabha that the government is “not taking the issue lightly” and expressed regret over the widespread disruptions faced by passengers.
Speaking during a debate in the Upper House, Naidu squarely blamed the airline’s internal systems for the crisis.
“The IndiGo crisis occurred due to problems in its crew rostering and internal planning systems. IndiGo was supposed to manage crew rosters through its day-to-day operations,” he said.
Naidu stressed that the disruption was not caused by any relaxation or misapplication of Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL), the safety framework that caps pilot and cabin crew working hours.
“We are ensuring that the FDTL is properly implemented, and there has been no compromise on that front,” he told Parliament.
