Union Minister Chirag Paswan on Friday heaped praises on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying the latter resides in his heart. Paswan made the remark in response to a query on why he was often referred to as PM Modi's 'Hanuman'?
"Mere PM mere dil mein baste hain... chahe toh main dil cheer ke dikha dunga (My Prime Minister lives in my heart… if needed, I’ll tear it open to show you)," Paswan said while speaking at the Powering Bharat Summit, organised by Network18 in collaboration with Moneycontrol, News18 India, and CNBC Awaaz.
Paswan has time and again praised PM Modi for his leadership and asserted that he views himself as "inseparable" from the former.
"My love for Narendra Modi is unshakeable. I am inseparable from him as long as he is Prime Minister," Paswan had said in an interview with news agency PTI last August, quelling rumours of a rift between his party and the BJP.
Chirag, the son of the late Ram Vilas Paswan, grabbed the headlines when he was given five seats to contest in the last Lok Sabha polls by the BJP over his estranged uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras. Paswan himself grabbed Hajipur, the pocket borough of his late father, leaving Paras, who had won the seat in 2019, in a sulk. PM Modi patting his back at the oath-taking ceremony, where Chirag was sworn in as a Union minister, grabbed the limelight back then.
On rumours of him mulling moving out of the alliance, Paswan said, "I can never think of ever separating from my PM."
The Union Minister for Food Processing Industries also exuded confidence in the NDA's victory in the upcoming Assembly polls in Bihar. "I manifest we will get good seats in Bihar, and I will also win my seat. I have had a 100 percent strike rate," he said.
