Sources told CNN-News18 that it may have been an IED explosion, with the terror angle not ruled out yet.

Visuals from the site showed flames and smoke billowing from more than one vehicle in the congested street located near the metro station.

Multiple vehicles and three autorickshaws also caught fire due to the powerful explosion.

Earlier today, a Kashmiri doctor was arrested in Faridabad with around 360 kg of inflammable material suspected to be ammonium nitrate and a huge cache of arms and ammunition recovered from his rented accommodation, police said on Monday.

During a joint operation by a team of Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir police, the accused Muzammil, a teacher at Al Falah University, was arrested, they said.

However, there is no clarity whether the arrest is linked to the explosion in Delhi.
