Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta took a dig at former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over Vipassana meditation, while speaking about Delhi pollution.

Taking to X, she wrote, "We are finding solutions to Delhi’s pollution problem while living and working in Delhi. We are not like those who leave Delhi to its fate and run away every six months to do Vipassana." She also shared a video with the tweet.

Responding to her, Kejriwal also took to X and wrote, "You harbour political enmity towards me. However, it does not behove you to mock the divine Vipassana meditation method taught by Lord Buddha in this manner."

"You too should certainly try Vipassana once. You will like it a lot, and you will experience boundless peace. Going to do Vipassana is not called “running away.” Only those with great fortune are blessed with Vipassana. May all be well!" he further wrote.

The exchange between the two leaders happened on Sunday - the same day when the Air Quality Index (AQI) in the national capital jumped to 461, which was the highest recorded this season, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data said.

On Saturday, the 24-hour average AQI was at 431. Meanwhile, AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj also spoke along the lines of Kejriwal and said that Gupta might mock Kejriwal's cough but the whole national capital is reeling under the health crisis brought upon by Delhi pollution.

Bharadwaj also expressed concern over the situation and said that the pollution level reached an alarming level even after the BJP government staying in power for nearly an year.
