The family has claimed that the teen's life could have been saved

After 15-year-old national-level basketball player Aman died after a basketball pole collapsed on him in Haryana's Bahadurgarh, his father Suresh has now alleged medical negligence and claimed that his son's life could have been saved.

While speaking to CNN-News18, Suresh said that the family was made to run around for Aman's treatment after the tragic incident took place and that the staff of PGIMS Rohtak is at fault.

"My son’s life could have been saved, it is entirely PGIMS Rohtak’s fault. We were made to run around there, sent from one place to another," he said.

Meanwhile, Aman's brother also alleged that the PGIMS Rohtak staff refused to treat his brother and that there was a delay in taking the blood sample as well. "We were asked to leave the hospital," he said.

The incident took place on November 24 when Aman went to the Hoshiar Singh Stadium in Haryana's Bahadurgarh for practice. He was referred to PGIMS Rohtak, where he later died of his injuries.

A similar incident took place two days later, where a 16-year-old died after a pole collapsed on him. Congress leader and Rohtak MP Deepender Singh Hooda called these incidents "criminal negligence".

“There cannot be an incident sadder than this… He lost his life because in the last 11 years, the BJP government in Haryana stopped the budget for all sports stadiums. All the stadiums were built during the Congress regime…"

"This is not only their indifference towards sports infrastructure but also their negligence. This is criminal negligence. Three years ago, I released my MP funds for work here. But they buried it in files because I am an Opposition MP… I am going to visit the family now. This government has shown bias; it does not want its children to get into sports," he added.

News18 also reported that Haryana’s Sports Department has directed that all sub-standard sports equipment be immediately removed. “The use of all sub-standard infrastructure is to be stopped with immediate effect, and repair work must be carried out," the order said.
