Sisodia has asked the health department to conduct an inquiry into the matter and submit a report by Monday evening, they said.
The corporation''s mayor, Jai Prakash, had on Saturday said that at least 23 COVID-19 patients left the hospital between April 19 and May 6 without informing the medical facility.

In view of the grim coronavirus situation, the Chhattisgarh government on Sunday said only 10 persons will be allowed to attend weddings and funerals in the state, while all kinds of religious, social, political, social and other programmes will continue to remain prohibited in the state.The General Administration Department issued the guidelines to this effect on Sunday for all divisional commissioners (revenue), Inspector General of Police (IGPs), district collectors and Superintendents of Police (SPs).At present, several districts in the state have set different limits on the number of people allowed at weddings, while some other districts have even cancelled permission for such functions during the lockdown at the local level.The new guidelines said that in order to put an effective check on the spread of the new variant of coronavirus, there will be a strict ban on the presence of more than ten people in marriage functions and funeral rituals, an official statement said.There will be a complete ban on all kinds of religious, social, political and other programmes across the state, it said. Jharkhandon Sunday reported 141 COVID-19 fatalities, raising the toll to 3,756, while the coronavirus tally mounted to 2,82,174 with 6,112 fresh cases, a health department bulletin said.The state now has 61,195 active cases, while 2,17,223 patients have so far recovered from the disease, it said.Ranchi district recorded the maximum number of 42 fatalities, followed by EastSinghbhum(25) andDhanbad(11).The recovery rate stood at 76.98 per cent as against the national average of 81.90 per cent, the bulletin said.The mortality rate in the state, however, is higher at 1.33 per cent compared to 1.10 per cent at the national level.A total of 73,05,183 samples have been tested for COVID-19 inJharkhand, including 45,658 since Saturday, it said. "Rahul Vohra is gone, my talented actor is no more. It was only yesterday that he told me his life could have been saved if he got better treatment. The finance ministry today said that it has released Rs 8,923 crore to 25 states for providing grants to the rural local bodies for various prevention and mitigation measures needed to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. The Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, on Saturday released an amount of Rs 8,923.8 crore to 25 states for providing grants to the rural local bodies (RLBs). The grants are meant for all the three tiers of Panchayati Raj Institutions village, block and district, an official statement said. It may be utilised by the RLBs, among other things, for various prevention and mitigation measures needed to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, and will augment their resources. (PTI)

Public Health England designated variant B.1.617.2, one of three variants identified in India that has spread to Britain, a variant of concern.
