Coronavirus impact: Real estate woes | Private equity investment in sector plummets 93% in 2020
The novel coronavirus pandemic has had a severe impact on private equity investment activity in the real estate sector with only five deals getting sealed in 2020. The investment in 2020 at $238 million was down 93 percent over last year, according to Knight Frank India.
The year has also seen 80 percent drop in the number of deals concluded in the first five months when compared to the same period last year, Knight Frank said in its report titled Investments in Real Estate.
