"India's commitment to eliminating all sources of terrorism in Pakistan and PoK has necessarily to be uncompromising and always be anchored in the supreme national interest", he wrote on X.

He further added, "This is a time for unity and solidarity. Right from the night of April 22, the INC has been categorically stating that the Govt will have our fullest support in the nation’s response to the Pahalgam terror attack. The INC is standing firmly with our armed forces".

Echoing Ramesh's statement, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge affirmed India’s steadfast policy against all forms of terrorism originating from Pakistan and PoK, praising the armed forces for their recent strikes on terror camps.

“We are extremely proud of our Indian Armed Forces for their resolute courage,” he said, noting that since the Pahalgam terror attack, the Congress has unequivocally supported any decisive action against cross-border terrorism.

"India has an unflinching National Policy against all forms of terrorism emanating from Pakistan and PoK," further adding, "We are extremely proud of our Indian Armed Forces who have stuck terror camps in Pakistan and PoK. We applaud their resolute resolve and courage".

Underlining the need for national unity, Kharge added that past leaders have guided the party’s commitment to placing the supreme national interest above all else.

"National Unity and solidarity is the need of the hour, and the Indian National Congress stands with our Armed Forces. Our leaders have shown the path in the past, and National Interest is supreme for us," Kharge noted.

In the early hours of Wednesday, India’s Army, Navy, and Air Force executed Operation Sindoor, a historic tri-service offensive against nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Ordered in direct response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 civilians, mostly tourists, this marks the first coordinated strike by all three branches against Pakistan since the 1971 war.

The precision strikes targeted key terror infrastructure without striking any Pakistani military or civilian facilities, underscoring New Delhi’s emphasis on a measured, non-escalatory approach. A detailed official briefing on the operation is expected later in the day.
