Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has said that India's economy is the fastest growing in the world and its growth cannot be deterred by "some people causing difficulties".
Addressing the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' programme in Vijayawada, Naidu, a key constituent of the NDA both at the Centre and in the state, took a shot at United States President Donald Trump over his remarks on the Indian economy and said that the future would decide which economy is dead and who stood strong.
"We are the fastest-growing economy, and no one can compete with us right now. During Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rule, India’s economy has made rapid strides from 11th to 4th place in the world. Our economy is in good hands. The world needs India’s services, and we are in a good position to deliver. By 2047, ours will be the strongest country and economy in the world. The future will decide which economies are dead. We are already emerging as a global leader," Naidu said.
Taking aim at the harsh measures imposed by the US on India, Naidu said that the tariffs and taxes were intended at halting India's growth story, but will prove unsuccessful.
"India’s growth cannot be stopped or shaken by some people causing difficulties for us. Taxes, tariffs and duties are being imposed, thinking it will halt India’s growth story. These hurdles, like trade barriers, are temporary; they cannot stop us. We will still emerge as a powerful country," Naidu said.
Naidu also utilised the opportunity to praise Prime Minister Narendra Modi's foreign policy, countering terrorism and conducting Operation Sindoor, and hailed his leadership for India's friendly relations with most nations.
Naidu further said that India responded appropriately to the Pahalgam terror attack. "We have a strong leader in PM Modi and the country will now bow to anyone," Naidu said, adding that India doesn't interfere in the affairs of other countries and will not tolerate anyone meddling with us.
