Video showed woman being hit by a PG operator in Noida

In a disturbing case of violence against a student has come to light in Noida’s Sector 62, where a PG operator at Raj Homes PG allegedly attacked a young woman who had gone to collect her security deposit.

The incident, which took place on Tuesday evening, was captured on camera and quickly went viral on social media.

The viral footage shows the PG operator repeatedly assaulting the student as bystanders look on without intervening. According to the student, she had deposited a security amount during her stay and had returned to claim it after vacating her room.

An argument reportedly broke out when she asked for the refund, following which the operator allegedly pulled her hair, slapped her, and physically injured her. The video was recorded by a male companion who was not permitted to enter the building, reports said.

After the clip went viral and drew widespread calls for action, Noida Police confirmed that an FIR had been registered at Sector 58 Kotwali police station. Officials said the student had been contacted and her statement recorded. The ACP also confirmed that a case had been filed based on her complaint.

Police issued a statement saying, "In reference to the cited case, an FIR has been registered at Police Station Sector 58, and legal action has been taken by the Police Station Sector 58 against the accused party."
