A man, who was employed with Rajasthan's employment department, has been arrested, allegedly for spying for Pakistan, News18 reported. His arrest came as part of the nationwide crackdown after India launched Operation Sindoor in Pakistan on May 7.

News18 cited police sources saying that multiple numbers with Pakistan's caller ID +92 have been associated with the man and he has been unable to provide a reasonable explanation for the same. Apart from this, he has also confessed that he visited Pakistan at least seven times in recent years.

Reports said that the man, Shakur Khan Manganiyar, was under the police radar for a very long period of time and that police acted on intel received from higher headquarters to nab him. He was held in Jaisalmer and it is likely that he would be brought to Jaipur for further questioning.

Officials familiar with the investigation said that no direct pictures or videos relating to the military have been recovered from his phone. It was also confirmed that the man deleted several files from his device and his two bank accounts are also being investigated.

Reports further said that Khan may have links to an official at Pakistan's embassy, which could indicate possible coordination with ISI handlers.

India has launched a nationwide search for all such people who passed on sensitive information to Pakistan. This comes weeks after India launched Operation Sindoor, specifically targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan.

India's move came in retaliation to the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed the lives of 26 people in the Kahmir valley, after allegedly confirming their religious identities.
