The Chandrababu Naidu government presented the Andhra Pradesh state budget for 2025-26 on Friday. Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav said that the government will focus on ‘SwarnaAndhra 2047’.
In his budget speech, Keshav said that coalition government will rectify the chaos caused by the previous YSRCP government. “There was financial chaos in every government,” Keshav added.
While the fiscal deficit is around Rs 79,926 crore (4.38 per cent of the GSDP), the estimated revenue deficit is around stand at Rs 33,185 crore (1.82 per cent of the GSDP).
This year, the state budget has proposed Rs 47,456 crore for the BC component whereas Rs 31,805 crore have been allocated for school education.
The government also announced ‘Talliki Vandanam scheme’. Under the initiative, the state government will provide Rs 15,000 annually as stipend for the students.
Students from classes I to class XII will be covered in the scheme. Students from private as well as government schools will be covered under the scheme. The finance minister said that the scheme has delivered the poll promise. The TDP-led NDA government also plans to implement a mega health coverage plan. Under this insurance scheme, Rs 25 lakh cover will be provided for each family. The plan will be implemented in the next fiscal.
Other major allocations included Rs 8,785 crore for the Department of Transport, Roads and Buildings and Rs 8,570 crore for the Home Department.
Later, Agriculture Minister K Atchennaidu presented a Rs 48,341 crore Agriculture Budget for FY26.
