AAP alleges 'conspiracy' to kill Kejriwal, says BJP will be responsible if anything happens to him

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) accused the BJP of planning a "deep conspiracy" to eliminate its leader, Arvind Kejriwal, and threatened to hold the BJP accountable if he were to die. According to AAP leaders, "BJP goons" attacked Kejriwal in Vikaspuri, West Delhi, during his "padyatra" campaign.

At a press conference, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh stated that police involvement in the incident indicates a conspiracy to kill Kejriwal, branding the BJP as an enemy of his life. There was no immediate response from the police or the BJP regarding Singh's allegations. Despite the attack, Singh confirmed that Kejriwal would continue his campaign as scheduled.

When questioned about why AAP hadn’t filed a complaint, Singh suggested the attack wouldn’t have occurred if the police had been impartial and acted to stop the assailants, whom he claimed were affiliated with the BJP's youth wing. Delhi cabinet minister Saurabh Bharadwaj echoed this, asserting that two of the attackers were high-ranking members of the BJP Yuva Morcha in Delhi. He noted that the attackers were seen celebrating after the incident and had previously lost a councillor election.

Singh further alleged that BJP leaders were supporting those who attacked Kejriwal and mentioned that AAP is seeking legal advice for potential action. In response, BJP leaders dismissed AAP's claims, stating that Kejriwal was facing protests from locals upset about poor water supply.

Singh insisted that Kejriwal would not back down and would continue to fight for Delhi's residents, adding that if anything happened to him, the BJP would be held accountable. He warned that even a minor injury to Kejriwal would provoke a strong backlash from the people of Delhi against the BJP.
