After a lull at the box office, there was finally some good news following the release of "102 Not Out". Although opening numbers for the Amitabh Bachchan starrer were being calculated, cinemagoers were happy about the film's release.
As analysts had mentioned, "word of mouth" would play an important role in the commercial success of the film and audience reviews so far are decent. The less said the better about the other release of the week - "Omerta". The biographical crime drama directed by Hansal Mehta that features Rajkumar Rao seems to have failed at the Box Office.
Early reports suggest that the film is an utter disaster. So much so, that it was hardly discussed on Twitter.
Cut to numbers and "Avengers - Infinity War" seems to be dominating the box office in its second week. Its second Friday opening is far better than new Hindi releases. The film had a fantastic first week as it grossed Rs 156 crore net. The film was off to a flyer on day one and held up superbly over the weekdays as well.
Interestingly, the biggest underdog release of the quarter has also made a similar number. No prizes for guessing, but we are talking of "Baaghi 2". Whatever people liked about the film, it was definitely not a poor remix of "Ek Do Teen".
Among other films that still have a chance to make some last minute money is "October". The film that has already made Rs 45.36 crore, still has people booking tickets for most are curious to find out what Varun Dhawan does better than justifying his dancing shoes.
"Hichki" in its sixth week and 60 screen shows has managed to rake in Rs 40 lakh, taking its gross collection to around Rs 46 crore.Those who do not plan to go to theatres this weekend can take a quick look at the trailer of "Bucket List". The film is Madhuri Dixit Nene's Marathi debut and people are going gaga over the trailer which apparently also has a surprise at the end. No we are not spilling the beans. Go check it yourself.
