With 30 more seats to go, Naidu's TDP is leading with 104 already secured. In contrast, JNP leads in four and has 17 seats. In the meantime, the BJP is ahead in three and has won five seats. Surprisingly, the YSRCP performed badly, winning only three seats but now holding the lead in nine more.

Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said, "INDIA will finish the unfinished business of 2014: On Feb 14th 2014, Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh pledged special category status to the new state of Andhra Pradesh for 5 years. BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu countered by saying BJP if elected to power will extend it for 10 years. Two months later Narendra Modi, in the holy city of Tirupati, repeated the promise." "For the past 10 years the outgoing Modi government did nothing," he said.

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar said, "It's a landslide victory for Telugu people and our party, the people have given one-sided victory to us. According to me, as Chandrababu Naidu has contested assembly elections, he will continue to be there only. We have committed to NDA, a pre-poll alliance is there and that will continue. We are in touch with the BJP, a few came and visited and a few have contacted us on the phone.TDP is a regional party having a national outlook."

Establishing a clear lead, Telugu Desam Party and its partners Janasena and BJP were ahead in 157 out of the total 175 assembly seats in the state, on its way to form government in Andhra Pradesh.
