While Rahul Dravid is one of the greatest players to have take the Cricket field, one important trophy had been missing from his cabinet — the World Cup.
However, fate today brought him back under limelight as a World Cup winning Coach.
India today defeated Australia by 8 wickets to clinch the Under-19 Cricket World Cup. India also became the first team to win the junior world cup four times. Dravid is the Head Coach of this young Indian team.

Dravid's tale with the World Cup has been long and gruelling. He was the Vice Captain of the team that lost the 2003 ICC Cricket World Cup final, incidentally against an Australian side.

Four years later in 2007, Dravid captained what was called by many as a 'dream team'. However, the team was upset by Bangladesh before crashing out in the group stage.
He was not part of the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup, that India won after a 28-year gap.

Observers feel that Dravid, who had been with the under-19 side for a long time now, has been a grounded coach has able to gel well with the juniors.
To many it was evident that Dravid's passion and dedication for the sport was one day going to get him to this moment where he proudly hold a World Cup trophy.
