Reckons they are ready for any situation that comes by. Tells she was not in the best form with the bat so she played a different role by stepping down the order. Nilakshika Silva WINS THE PLAYER OF THE MATCH AWARD. She starts by thanking the crowd for the support. Tells they had a plan, they wanted to play fearless cricket and she just tried to play in that manner.
Harmanpreet Kaur, the skipper of India Women admits Sri Lanka Women batted really well. Tells they dropped a couple of catches and even Kashvee Gautam got injured so feels a couple of things didn't go their way. Reckons they were hoping to cross the 280 mark when Richa Ghosh was batting. Mentions batting wise they are okay but need to do well in the first 10 overs with the ball.

Earlier in the game, India batted decently. Almost every batter contributed to the total, with Ghosh's fifty being the standout innings. It looked par on this pitch but credit to Sri Lanka Women batters who snip the chase down in a collective fine fashion. A similar batting scorecard for both teams. All of them contributed mostly however, Sri Lanka Women were better on the given day.
India had a decent chance to claw back into the game on a couple of occasions but they failed to make the most. India Women once again relied on their bunch of spinners to control the middle phase but Sri Lanka Women were too good as they managed to hit the boundaries here and there and keep the required run rate in check. Sneh Rana bowled well as she picked up three wickets but others found it difficult to scalp wickets. India Women will put their hands up and admit Sri Lanka Women were too good today.
SRI LANKA HAVE BEATEN INDIA FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 2018! A famous, famous win for Sri Lanka Women and they have done the unimaginable against the mighty Indian team. Reminder, Sri Lanka Women chased down a tough total against South Africa a couple of nights back as well, so they were coming into this game with a lot of confidence. Chasing a par total on a pitch that was assisting the spinners, Sri Lanka Women did well to milk out runs against the pacers and lay a perfect foundation. Chamari Athapaththu came down the order today as Harshitha Samarawickrama was in good touch with the bat, she didn't disappoint as she hit her fifth ODI fifty in the process. Harshitha Samarawickrama fell and the onus was on the others to do the job. Once Chamari Athapaththu and Kavisha Dilhari fell, it looked like Sri Lanka Women will give up but Nilakshika Silva played a fabulous innings to get the upper hand on the game again. Silva fell after a quick fire fifty and India had a chance to pull things back but they allowed the tail wag. Anushka Sanjeewani and Sugandika Kumari played a handy innings to chase it down.
