Blue Dart collaborates with Skye Air to successfully commence drone deliveries

Blue Dart announced on June 19 that it has successfully launched drone delivery services. Blue Dart collaborated with leading drone technology firm Skye Air to launch the services.

This move marks a significant advancement towards cleaner and more efficient delivery solutions, the courier and integrated express package distribution company said in an exchange filing.

“The successful initiation of drone delivery operations further solidifies Blue Dart's position as an industry leader, reaffirming its commitment to continuous innovation and top-notch service,” it added.

Notably, Blue Dart achieved this milestone on World Environment Day.

“Building on their pioneering VLOS trials in Vikarabad, Hyderabad, in September 2021, and BVLOS trials under the Telangana Government's 'Medicine from the Sky' initiative, Blue Dart continues to lead in utilising drone technology for logistics,” the company further said.

The innovative delivery approach is expected to initially focus on the growing e-commerce sector and eventually revolutionise last-mile delivery by offering same-day delivery for shipments. Not only are drone deliveries expected to reduce delivery time but also soften the environmental impact.
