Mumbai, Jan 10 (PTI) Private utility Tata Power (TPC) today said it has tied-up with Havells, to launch a ceiling fan replacement programme, wherein its residential customers in Mumbai can exchange their old fans with new energy efficient appliances. Under the programme, the Havells fans, which will have a special warranty of three years, will be made available at 50 per cent of the MRP, the company said in a statement issued here. "Old ceiling fans consume more than 75 watts of energy. But the new five star ceiling fans, being promoted under this program, are much more efficient and will consume only 50 watts, thus leading to saving 30 per cent," the release said. "We are confident that our demand side efforts will not only help our customers to significantly reduce their monthly bills, but enable them to make Mumbai a greener city. We will also provide Rs 600 rebate to make this offer attractive," TPC Executive Director Operations S Padmanabhan said.
