Ahmedabad, Oct 31 (PTI) Bollywood actor Sunil Shetty's company, H20, has shown interest in starting up several facilities including water sports along the Sabarmati riverfront here. The company, which has rights for offering water sports along beaches in Mumbai and Goa, has sent a proposal to the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC). "We have submitted a proposal to the AMC about what can be done along the riverfront to boost tourism....water sports is just one of the facets of the proposal," Director H2O, Manoj Agiwal, told PTI over phone from Mumbai. AMC sources said the company proposes to offer water scooters and speed boats, besides setting up a floating restaurant. AMC had formed Sabarmati River Front Development Corporation (SRFDCL) for developing 10.5 km stretch along the river; construction work is underway. "We have come to know that Sunil Shetty's company has submitted a proposal and has completed the technical study for the project," SRFDCL Director Dilip Mahajan said. According to H20 executives, a new company will have to be floated to undertake the project if the company wins the bid for the riverfront development project. In the past, several companies had backed out due to non-availability of water in the river round the year. According to official sources, AMC has been demanding 25 per cent share of the gross revenue from the floating restaurant and 10 per cent from the water sports business. PTI VKB PD KRK
