Tesla in India: Elon Musk's firm posts job opening for Pune after Mumbai, Delhi

Tesla is reportedly planning to set up its showrooms in Mumbai's business district of BKC, and at Aerocity in New Delhi.

US electric carmaker Tesla has posted a job advertisement for the role of PCB Design Engineer, Electronic Systems in Pune. This comes after the Elon Musk-led EV maker posted job openings for 13 roles in Delhi and Mumbai.

Tesla had posted several job advertisements on LinkedIn for roles based in Mumbai and Delhi, signaling the entry plans for the Elon Musk-led company after his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his US trip.

Tesla is reportedly planning to set up its showrooms in Mumbai's business district of BKC, and at Aerocity in New Delhi. It plans to begin its retail operations in India by April this year, CNBC-TV18 reported citing people familiar with the development.

The latest job opening at Tesla is for a candidate to handle complex multilayer HDI printed circuit board (PCB). "We are looking for a PCB Layout Design Engineer to implement effective design practices to bring high speed print circuit board from proof of concept to mass production," the job posting read.

The candidate must have five or more years of relevant experience in circuit board design. The role needs proficiency in HDI PCB design and proficiency in Cadence Allegro. The candidate must have experience in high-speed interface layout design rules such as DRAM, CSI, PCIe, along with power supply and switching regulators layout. They must also have knowledge about PCB materials and be able develop board stackup as per design requirement.
