Nifty 6200 Put adds 10 lakh shares in Open Int

Nifty 6200 Put added 10 lakh shares in Open Interest while Nifty 6300 Call added 7.5 lakh shares in Open Interest and Nifty 6500 Call added 5.7 lakh shares in Open Interest.

FIIs were net buyers to the tune of Rs 1323 crore in Index Options; which open interest (OI) was up 51058 contracts. Stock Futures added 4 crore shares in OI.


Nifty 6200 Put added 10 lakh shares in Open Interest while Nifty 6300 Call added 7.5 lakh shares in Open Interest and Nifty 6500 Call added 5.7 lakh shares in Open Interest.


Speculative buying was seen in Hexaware Tech. The stock shot up 10%; its OI was up 27%.


Long buildup & cash based buying were seen in Sterlite Industries; the stock gained 3% and its OI was up 15%.


Short covering & cash buying were seen in Nagarjuna Construction and MTNL. Nagarjuna Construction rallied 7.7%; its OI was down 4% and delivery volume increased at 8.6 lakh shares versus 3.4 lakh.


MTNL rose 4.6%; its OI was down 2% and delivery volume moved up at 6.7 lakh shares versus 3.4 lakh.

Fresh shorts were seen in Bajaj Auto post December sales numbers. The stock went down 4.3%; its OI was up 12% and delivery volume increased at 5.8 lakh shares versus 4.2 lakh.
