Nifty 6200 Call adds 15.4 lakh shares in OI

Stock Futures added 1.35 crore shares in OI. Nifty Open Interest PCR was down at 1.31 from 1.37. Nifty 6200 Call added 15.4 lakh shares in OI while Nifty 6100 Put shed 1.3 lakh shares in OI.

FIIs were net sellers to the tune of Rs 1642 crore in Index Futures; which open interest (OI) was down 5138 contracts. They were net sellers of Rs 495 crore in Stock Futures; which OI was up by 7431 contracts. However, FIIs were net buyers of Rs 1652 crore in Index Options; which OI was up by 64066 contracts.


Stock Futures added 1.35 crore shares in OI. Nifty Open Interest PCR was down at 1.31 from 1.37. Nifty 6200 Call added 15.4 lakh shares in OI while Nifty 6100 Put shed 1.3 lakh shares in OI.


Cash based selling & fresh shorts were seen in ICICI Bank, DLF, REC and Chambal Fertilisers. ICICI Bank fell 3%; its OI was up 6% and delivery volume increased at at 31 lakh shares as against 20 lakh.


DLF lost 3.3%; its OI was up 9% and delivery volume jumped at 10 lakh shares versus 8 lakh. REC tumbled 3.2%; its OI was up by 14% and delivery volume doubled to 34.5 lakh shares versus 15.8 lakh.


Chambal Fertiliser slipped 3.7%; its OI was up 13% and delivery volume increased to 32 lakh equity shares as against 16.7 lakh shares.

However, cash based buying and short covering were seen in Jindal Saw. The stock jumped 6%; its OI was down 11% and delivery volume went up drastically at 11 lakh shares versus 1.7 lakh.
