Nifty 5400 Put added 37.2 lakh shares in OI while Nifty 5600 Call added 12.9 lakh shares in OI.

FIIs were net buyers of Rs 865 crore in Index Futures on Monday, which open interest (OI) was up by 3905 contracts. FIIs were net buyers of Rs 1,057 crore in stock futures, which OI was down by 7685 contracts.Stock Futures have net shed 1 crore shares in OI. The Nifty Open Interest PCR was up at 1.14 versus 1.03. Highest OI outstanding was seen at 5400 Put and 5600 Call.Nifty 5400 Put added 37.2 lakh shares in OI while Nifty 5600 Call added 12.9 lakh shares in OI.Short covering was seen in GMR Infrastructure, Jaiprakash Associates and Unitech. GMR Infra shot up 7.4%; its OI was down by 5.5% and delivery volume was unchanged at 51 lakh shares.Jaiprakash Associates went up 6.6%; its OI was down by 4.4% and delivery volume declined at 71 lakh shares versus 84 lakh. Unitech rose 3.4%; its OI was down by 3.3% and delivery volume slipped at 97 lakh shares versus 1.72 crore shares.Short covering and cash based buying were seen in Suzlon Energy and Bajaj Hindusthan. Suzlon gained 3.4%; its OI was down by 3.3% and delivery volume increased at 41 lakh shares versus 22.7 lakh.Bajaj Hindusthan jumped 6.3%; its OI was down by 8% and delivery volume went up at 4.3 lakh shares versus 2.6 lakh shares.Speculative buildup was seen in Tata Steel ahead of results.
