Sarvodaya Healthcare on Monday announced the strategic acquisition of Nayati Hospital in Mathura through the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) process.
Sarvodaya, through its flagship entity Anshu Hospitals Limited, acquired Nayati for a total resolution consideration of Rs.120 crore.
The acquisition will see Sarvodaya’s capacity surge from 800 beds to 1,200 beds, as it moves to capture the growing demand for tertiary care in India’s Tier-2 markets.
The acquisition marks a new chapter for the Mathura facility, which was originally founded by former corporate lobbyist Niira Radia before falling into financial distress and entering insolvency proceedings.
The deal was approved by the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) Chandigarh Bench. The financial breakdown of the deal includes Rs 100 crore to be infused into the corporate debtor to settle liabilities and repay creditors, and Rs.20 crore will be paid for the assignment of sustainable debt and personal guarantees. The primary financial creditors are PNB, Union Bank of India, Yes Bank and Canara Bank. The creditors took a significant haircut.
The 400-bed facility is expected to be fully operational by June 2026. For years, patients in Western Uttar Pradesh have been forced to travel to the Delhi-NCR region for complex treatments; Sarvodaya aims to reverse this trend by establishing a comprehensive super-speciality hub closer to home.
The revived hospital will have departments for cardiology, oncology, neurosciences, and orthopaedics. Infrastructure including 100 ICU beds, nine modular operating theatres, and round-the-clock trauma services and advanced diagnostic capabilities.
“As healthcare demand continues to grow beyond metropolitan cities, facilities like these play an important role in ensuring that high-quality treatment is accessible closer to where people live,” said Dr. Rakesh Gupta, Group Chairman of Sarvodaya Healthcare.
Sarvodaya projects the creation of over 1,000 direct jobs within the next three to four years, spanning clinical, nursing, and administrative roles. This builds on the group’s decade-long presence in Mathura, where it previously operated a health clinic in Krishna Nagar. With a total workforce now exceeding 5,500 professionals and 29 state-of-the-art operating theatres across the group, Sarvodaya is positioning itself as a dominant player in the North Indian healthcare landscape. The group plans further investments in medical technology upgrades, including AI-enabled surgical systems and advanced radiation therapy, to bring metropolitan-standard care to Western UP.
