The inner circle of the late business tycoon Ratan Tata was left surprised after his recently opened will mentioned a mystery man — Mohini Mohan Dutta — who has been bequeathed a third of former Tata Group chairman's residual assets, estimated at more than Rs 500 crore, The Economic Times reported. Dutta's unexpected inclusion has come as a surprise to the Tata family.
Ratan Tata, the chairman emeritus of Tata Sons, passed away in a Mumbai hospital on October 10. He was 86.
Dutta had been a long-standing associate and was known to Tata's close circles, including some family members, the report cited people who knew Tata closely as saying. Dutta, too, described himself as being close to Tata family members, sources from the conglomerate told the publication.
