State-owned lender, Punjab National Bank on October 18 reported a 14 percent year-on-year rise in its net profit to Rs 4,904 crore in the second quarter of the current financial year.
Operating Profit for Q2FY26 increased to Rs 7,227 crore and to Rs 14,308 crore for HY1FY26
recording growth of 5.5 percent and 6.5 percent, respectively on YoY basis.
Net Interest Income for H1FY26 was at Rs 21,047 crore recording growth of 0.26 percent on YoY
basis. Total Income for Q2FY26 was at Rs 36,214 crore and Rs 73,445 crore for H1FY26 recording
a growth of 5.1 percent and 10.3 percent, respectively on YoY basis.
Total Interest Income for Q2 was at Rs 31,872 crore, which was up by 6.7 percent year-on-year. Total Interest Expenses for Q2FY26 was at Rs 21,403 crore and Rs 42,789 crore for H1FY26, increased by 10.6 percent and 14.3 percent, respectively on YoY basis.
GNPA ratio improved by 103 bps on YoY basis to 3.45 percent as on September 30, 2025 from 4.48 percent as on September 30, 2024. NNPA ratio improved by 10 bps on YoY basis to 0.36 percent as on September 30, 2025 from 0.46 percent as on September 30, 2024.
Gross Non-Performing Assets declined by Rs 7,239 crore to Rs 40,343 crore as on September 30, 2025 from Rs 47,582 crore as on September 30, 2024. Net Non-Performing Assets declined by Rs 648 crore to Rs 4,026 crore as on September 30, 2025 from Rs 4,674 crore as on September 30, 2024.
Savings Deposits increased to Rs 5,08,964 crore registering a YoY growth of 4.2 percent, and Current Deposits increased to Rs 74,215 crore registering a YoY growth of 9.0 percent.
CASA Deposits increased to Rs 5,83,178 crore recording a YoY growth of 4.7 percent. CASA Share of the bank stands at 37.29 percent as on September 30, 2025 registering an improvement
of 30 bps over June 30, 2025.
Total Term Deposit witnessed a growth of 14.7 percent on YoY basis to Rs 10,33,902 crore as
on September 30, 2025.
Total Retail credit increased by 8.8 percent YoY to Rs 2,72,210 crore as on September 30, 2025. The bank grew under Retail Advances excluding IBPC recording a YoY growth of 18.1 percent.
Within Retail Advances excluding IBPC: Housing Loan grew by 12.9 percent YoY to Rs 1,24,099 crore, and Vehicle loan posted a growth of 30.9 percent YoY to reach Rs 29,512 crore.
Agriculture advances grew by 13.0 percent on YoY basis to Rs 1,83,987 crore and MSME advances increased YoY by 18.6 percent to Rs 1,79,220 crore.
