Tata Neu Infinity HDFC Bank Credit Card updates NeuCoin rewards on UPI transactions: Key changes explained

Effective from August 1 there are changes to NeuCoins earned on UPI Transactions using Tata Neu Infinity HDFC Bank credit card.

Tata Neu Infinity HDFC Bank credit card is offering users 1.5 percent back as NeuCoins (including spends on partner Tata Brands) and a maximum of 500 NeuCoins per calendar month on UPI transactions.

Effective August 1, users will earn 0.5 percent back as NeuCoins on eligible UPI transactions. Users will get an extra 1 percent back as NeuCoins if they use Tata Neu UPI ID for a transaction.

This means users will earn 0.5 percent back as NeuCoins for transactions done using UPI IDs of apps such as Google Pay, PhonePe, Cred, etc. Users stand to get an additional 1 percent back as NeuCoins if the transaction is done using the Tata Neu UPI ID. Users can create their Tata Neu UPI IDs through the Tata Neu app. The total NeuCoins earned on eligible UPI transactions will continue to be capped at 500 NeuCoins per month.

The change in the rewards programme will not affect the existing NeuCoin balance.

Credit of NeuCoins

The 0.5 percent earned as NeuCoins for all eligible UPI transactions will be credited by the bank to the user’s credit card account. The additional 1 percent earned for transactions done via Tata Neu UPI ID will be credited to their Tata Neu accounts and will be available to use after 30 days.

Cardholders can keep track of the NeuCoins earned through UPI transactions using the Tata Neu UPI ID in the NeuPass section on the Tata Neu app.

Transactions not eligible for UPI rewards              

However, users will not be able to earn NeuCoins for UPI transactions while spending on fuel, wallet loads, prepaid card loads, rental and government related transactions, smart EMI payments and cash advances.

Notably, this credit card is popular among users as it is on the RuPay network and allows users to link with payment apps for UPI transactions. NeuCoins are rewards a customer earns when transacting on the Tata Neu app, website, or at any brand store or hotel.
