Registered Post to Merge with Speed Post

From September 1, India Post will integrate its Registered Post facility with Speed Post. Any registered post dispatched within India on or after this date will automatically be conveyed as Speed Post, seeking to streamline services and enhance efficiency.

SBI Credit Card Rewards Revamp

Starting September 1, certain SBI Card customers will stop accruing reward points on gaming websites, government dues, and select merchants. Another significant alteration: starting September 16, all Credit Card Protection Plan (CPP) policyholders will be automatically transitioned to new versions at the time of renewal.

Special FD Schemes Closing Soon

Banks are launching lucrative but time-limited deposit schemes. Indian Bank's 444-day and 555-day FDs and IDBI Bank's 444, 555, and 700-day special FDs close on September 30, 2025, for new investment. Savers who want more returns must move before the cut-off date.

ITR Filing Deadline Extended

For non-audit cases of individuals and HUFs, the deadline for filing Income Tax Return for FY 2024–25 has been pushed to September 15, 2025. The CBDT provided this relief from the initial July 31 deadline, but failure to meet the new deadline can result in penalties as well.

NPS to UPS Switch Window

Central government employees who are eager to shift from the National Pension System (NPS) to the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) will have to do so by September 30, 2025. The window period will not be open after that.

Jan Dhan Re-KYC Drive

As most Jan Dhan accounts have reached 10 years, re-KYC has become obligatory. To facilitate the process, public sector banks are conducting special camps at the panchayat level from July 1 to September 30, 2025, and This offers doorstep services to account holders.

PNB Monsoon Loan Bonanza

Punjab National Bank has introduced its "Monsoon Bonanza 2025" on home, car, and other retail loans. The offer, with special rates and concessions, continues until September 30, 2025.
