Cheap and easy ways to give your hostel dorm a makeover

Whenever one thinks about a hostel dorm – the image of a small quarter cramped with a study table and a bed crops up. While you might not be allowed to redecorate the place entirely, you can convert your quarter into a fashionable hideout that is not only space efficient but is also modern and chic. Below are a few tips that will help you remodel your dorm that too on a shoe string budget.
• Instead of hammering a screw onto the wall to hang your photo frame, stick it onto the walls using some washi tape • If the wall paint in your room walls are chipping, instead of repainting it or sticking wallpaper, cover it with printable wall mural and your room will end up looking much more modern • Use wall decals to dress up the walls. There are a number of removable wall decal designs available in the market, choose the one that fits your budget and matches your personality • If your roommate has been invading your space and your polite request have been turned down, the best thing do to is to mark your territory. Segregate your sections by lining it with decorative paper or washi tape • Don’t have the money to invest in a side table, worry not, spray paint a metal wastebasket with neon shades and viola you have your own chic side table • Convert your bed into a cozy corner by placing a canopy. They can be easily moved through the room and if it seems to cluttered, conceal it with a modern drape • If you are a creative person and love doodling don’t just stick to notebooks. Take your creative and display it on the walls. You could either stick a thin layer of glass onto the wall where you could doodle or paint an entire door with blackboard chalk paint • Want to add an element of green in your room but lack green fingers worry not, place low maintenance plants. Place them into painted pots and viola you have your own backyard garden!
